A flower stands amidest the sand dunes,
Undaunted and unfettered,
Thirsty for nourishment.
Alongside lay her companion,
Longing for a reunion
With the ones who moulded her.
Her weathered features,
Glistening in the sun,
Laquered by sweat.
Her once soft silken hair,
Dancing along to the rhythm of the wind.
Those hands,
Faithfully serving her all these while,
Was by no means
A tool for survival in this brazier.
With a whimper she was brought to this world,
And with a slight breeze she was no more.
Death hath claimed her,
From this hellfire and brimstone.
A reprieve?It asked,
As one of its petal fell.
